Planning your Cupcake Day

Cupcake Day is an easy and fun way to bring people together for a great cause. But because we all need a little push in the right direction sometimes, here are some easy tips to get you prepped!

1. Decide your event details

Choose the date, time and place for your Cupcake Day.

The official date for Cupcake Day is Monday 21 August, but any day in that month is good, too! Just give everyone a heads up so they can get their taste buds ready.

2. Personalise your fundraising page

Completing your page with a photo and ‘about me’ section will bring in more donations – it’s a proven fact!

3. Notify the masses

Make sure you let everyone know about your Cupcake Day and why you want to fight animal cruelty! Update your Facebook status, tweet about it, and do that thing where you talk to people face to face.

4. Bake!

More bakers mean more cupcakes… and probably more donations! Try to make a variety of flavours and icing for all taste buds. Click on the ‘Recipe’ tab for some fresh ideas.

5. Decorate

Need a little oomph? You can visit our ‘Resources’ page to download free decorative items, making it easy to theme your Cupcake Day and have all your decorations, cupcakes, and guests match. And before you know it… it’ll be a poppin’ party!

6. Bank your funds

The easiest way for your supporters to donate is via credit or debit card, or PayPal. Direct them to click on the ‘Give Now’ button on your personal fundraising page to donate and be emailed a receipt.

If you collect cash donations, you can deposit these to your fundraising page using your own credit card, debit card or PayPal account. You can then bank the cash or cheques into your personal account.

7. Say ‘thank you’

Remember to thank all your donors and baking buddies because feeling appreciated is important!
